The most popular touristic destination and also the biggest city of the Czech Republic is Prague. It is the city with picturesque historical center, beautiful parks and gardens and modern districts with fantastic architecture.
The most famous Prague monument is the Prague Castle, which was founded in the 9th century. Since 1918 it is a seat of the president of the Czech Republic. The Prague Castle is a large complex of representative buildings, churches and gardens. The most popular parts of the Prague Castle are the Golden Lane, St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert Cathedral, St. George Basilica and the Lobkowitz, Sternberg and Swarzenberg Palace.
Between the Prague Castle and the Vltava River is situated the Lesser Town, which is connected with the Old Town by Charles Bridge.
The most famous touristic places on the Lesser Town are the Church of St. Nicholas and Kampa with the Museum at the Sova's Mill. Next to the Lesser Town is situated the Petrin hill with the Petrin Tower, from which is marvelous view to the whole Prague.
During you stay in Prague you should also visit the Old Town Square with the Old Town Hall, on which Tower you can see the famous astronomical clock with twelve apostles. Other interested places in the Old Town are the Old Jewish Town with the Jewish Museum, the Old Cemetery and synagogues, The Estates Theatre and the National Gallery.
On the right side of the Vltava river is situated the Vysehrad, that was the seat of Czech kings, before the legendary princess Libuse founded the Prague Castle. On the Vysehrad you can visit museums, the St. Peter and Pavel church, rotunda of St. Martin and also a cemetery, where are buried important and famous personalities of the Czech nation.
Prague isn't only a historical town, it's also an important University center. The most famous in the Charles University, founded by Charles IV.
There are a lot of restaurants, pubs, stores with souvenirs and traditional hand made stuff in Prague. You can also relax in one of the sport and wellness centers, aqua parks or on the boat trip.
The city lives also in night. You can visit music clubs, cinemas or just walk and see the unforgettable atmosphere of the night town.
Prague is for its unique atmosphere also an important film location. There was shooting so famous films as Babylon, Hostel II, Alien vs Predator, Triple X and lot of others.

You can also spend a few days in one of the spas with mineral water. The most visited spas in the Czech Republic are Karlovy Vary, Podebrady, Marianske Lazne, Luhacovice and Teplice.
